St. Andrew’s is a nurturing, child-centered parish that recognizes the vital importance of offering a high quality spiritual education to its youth. Church School occurs each week from the beginning of the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Mass until after the homily; it is in session between Labor Day and Memorial Day.
In an effort to allow for many parishioners to teach in the church school program while still maintaining their other ministries, St. Andrew’s utilizes a month-to-month model in which one individual (or family) commits to teaching church school classes for one month at a time. The church school maintains unity between its curriculum and Sunday services by creating lessons based upon the same scripture readings from the Revised Common Lectionary. Teachers are encouraged to exercise their creativity and utilize their own particular talents when planning their classes.
